Book production can often feel like a confusing process, shrouded in questions and uncertainty—not unlike magic. Our name pays homage to the iconic magician’s circle, while embracing the unique form of the oblong. Just as oblongs, ovals and ellipses emerged from the balance between two focal points, we take pride in bringing harmony out of conflicting constraints: dynamism with stability, inventiveness with constancy. In classical architecture, the oblong was often used in temples where mortals sought harmony with the divine. Similarly, we hope to elevate our clients’ work to the ideals they envision. It’s also an homage to our dog Oblong, who is a constant source of cheer and encouragement to the team.
